Your task is to design and construct a working model of a burglar alarm. Your design must include: a door that is will set off the alarm if opened, and a switch that can deactivate the alarm. You may also include a parallel circuit attached to a window which will ALSO set off the alarm if opened.

- Today you need to finish the design of your burglar alarm and begin constructing your burglar alarm. By the end of today, you should have your basic circuit built and tested (although if it's not in place yet, that's okay). Make sure to spend time on your switches. They need to work consistently. Ask yourself: what does a circuit need to work? What is the purpose of a switch? If your circuit isn't working, trace the path of electricity, and see if there are any breaks that you didn't intend to be there.

- Today you should finish constructing your Burglar Alarm. Make sure that the switches are in the correct places in your house, and that the circuit works consistently. If your house is pretty, but the Burglar Alarm doesn't work, your project won't do well. If you want to build a parallel circuit attached to a window, today is a good time to do that. The switch will probably be different than the one you used for the door. Draw diagrams of your switches, and explain how they work. If you are confident that your switches work well and your circuit is solid, then you can begin to decorate your house.

- today is the last day for working on your burglar alarms. If your switch is not working, don't be afraid to take it apart and rebuild it from scratch. Sometimes adding more and more tape to try to make it work can actually get in the way. Make sure that everything works. Put the finishing touches on your house. Make it your own. Remember the safety rules for electrical devices. Does your house follow them? Fill out the page for Day 3 in your booklet. Double-check the rubric, and make sure that you have done everything you can to make your project as good as it can be.
Provided are three examples of machines that move. Use the idea of the designs to create your own!!!!
